Pablo Castillo
version française english

Time spent in an art school revealed his real aspirations, after having gone through a complete training as a ceramist and working in utilitarian pottery. Since then, Pablo Castillo works in the area of figurative sculpture, following the lineage of potter/sculptors such as Carriès among others, and in the popular art of terracotta. Using the ancestral technique of clay coils, he fashions shapes in stoneware, little by little, until he arrives at the definitive shape, before painting decorations that give his pieces their polychromatic vibrancy. He depicts his dreamlike world with symbolism and psychology. This world is deliberately naive and profoundly inspired by the world of tales, fables and mythologie, and includes certain pieces on dream analysis.
